Perhaps you're down or anxious - maybe you're unsure about the future of a relationship, or just feel that you aren't living the life you were meant to lead. Whatever your needs may be, I am here to offer support. I have the tools and professional experience to help you get back on track.
Services I Offer
Personalised Care and Guidance
Parenting and Family Relationship Counseling
There is no shame in seeking parenting counseling. And, if you decide to do so, it doesn’t mean you are a “bad parent.” The decision to work with a parenting counselor just means that you are brave enough to ask for help. In fact, turning to a parenting counselor is the first step in providing your children with stability, while acquiring the support you need to be the best parent you can be. Honestly, one of the best ways to be a “good parent” is to simply love your children unconditionally.
Couples Counselling
In my therapy sessions, we’ll work to solve current problems and improve positive thinking and behavior. I will help you “re-frame” your reactions and provide you with valuable tools to cope with life’s obstacles. I’m confident you’ll find my personalized Couples Counselling beneficial and inspirational. Get in touch to book an appointment.

Grief and Loss Counselling
Grief is a normal, natural process that assists us to heal ourselves after experiencing any kind of loss, whether it be the loss of a loved one, relationship, a dream or one's health or job. Grief can be major, lasting for long periods of time, or minor, causing distress for more limited periods. The way in which we respond to loss is unique to each and every one of us.
Individual Counselling
It could be time to seek therapy if an issue causes distress or interferes with daily life. Distress can mean negative thoughts, feelings, behaviours, or even a bodily sensation such as pain or fatigue. It is important not to wait until symptoms become severe before going to therapy. It may be best to seek therapy if you are often unhappy or feel overwhelmed and hopeless about issues in your life. Therapy can also help if you cannot focus on work or school, experience addiction, or feel like hurting yourself or someone else.
My Story
Hi, my name is Alison (everyone calls me Ali) and I am an experienced counsellor specialising in working with children, young people, couples and families struggling with relationships and life. While stress, anxiety, depression, trauma and grief and loss are my specialty.
Prior to my counselling career, I worked primarily with children as an early childhood teacher, a primary teacher’s assistant, and a ‘Barnardos’ Child Carer, all while being a mother of three young children. Since then my focus has grown more towards couples and family health and wellness and helping individuals and families find more balance and wholeness in life.
I am married to David. We have been married for 35 years. We have three adult children who are all married and have six beautiful grandchildren that we love dearly. I grew up in a large family that went through separation, trauma and abuse. I can understand that family life is not always easy as I have experienced both healthy and unhealthy family relationships.
Through my own experiences and having helped many people explore their stories and make sense of the struggles in their lives, I have discovered skills and strategies that can enable people and families to move forward. Models of therapy I employ include; Attachment Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy and the Gottman Method when working with couples. My intuitive understanding of people’s needs and emotions allows me to work well in a caring and relaxed manner while maintaining a safe working environment.
Contact Me
Find my private practice on Pyes Pa Road just past the Pyes Pa shops and is in a lovely therapeutic setting that enables opportunities for therapy inside and outside of a closed-in room environment if desired. This can allow for creativity or just simply a garden seat to connect, reflect and process the struggles being experienced in life and family.
I look forward to hearing from you and supporting you along your journey.
